How much time to you spend cleaning your home each day or each week? When you walk through your home does it look clean or does it look cluttered? Put everything away and your home will look a lot cleaner. If your house cleaning check off list ends there you will wake up to a clean bathroom in the morning. Your bedroom is your key to a complete house cleaning checklist. An unmade bed will haunt you each time you walk through the bedroom. Keep the surface clean there and your bedroom will look clean too.

Develop Your Own House Cleaning Checklist

How much time to you spend cleaning your home each day or each week? When you walk through your home does it look clean or does it look cluttered? You have to remove the clutter before you can start to clean. The first item that should go on your house cleaning checklist is a walk through of your home to look for what is out of place. Put everything away and your home will look a lot cleaner. If you can develop the habit of putting things back where they belong immediately after you use them your home will appear cleaner to anyone that enters it.

For a quick and routine approach to house cleaning look at the rooms you use the most. Start your housecleaning check list with the room you use most. if it is the kitchen divide it into the most apparent areas:

counter tops
stove top
kitchen sink
floors

After you do the dishes take a minute or two to wipe down the counter tops, then the stove top and end up with the sink. The last thing that needs to be done is the floor to get everything that ended up there when you did the others.

Most of us start and end our days in the bathroom. If your house cleaning check off list ends there you will wake up to a clean bathroom in the morning. After using the sink or the shower wipe everything down with your wash cloth. Always squeegee the shower door after use and you will avoid soap scum and calcium deposits. The last thing before you turn out the light give the toilet bowl a quick scrub and then go off to bed.

Your bedroom is your key to a complete house cleaning checklist. An unmade bed will haunt you each time you walk through the bedroom. As soon as everyone it up, make the bed and put the pillows and throws in place. Clothing that is not in a drawer or hanging in a closet is clutter and should be put away. It only takes a couple of minutes but you will feel much better about it. Before you leave the room, look at your bed stands. Keep the surface clean there and your bedroom will look clean too.

Next you will want to develop a house cleaning list for each of your identified rooms. Clutter is the big killer in house cleaning. The first room that people see when they enter your home is your living room or family room. Prioritize the rooms on your house cleaning list by the amount of usage they get. Bathrooms and kitchens are typically high traffic areas. You will be surprised at how easy it is to keep a house clean when the horizontal surfaces look clean.

A Simple House Cleaning List to Live By

Houses come in all sizes and room configuration. Start your house cleaning list by creating an inventory of your rooms. Be sure to include hallways and entryways that are not specifically part of another room. The following rooms would be found in a typical home:

Family Room

Living Room

Entryway

Bedroom(s)

Bathrooms(s)

Kitchen

Entertainment Center

Utility Room

Rooms that are not used on a daily basis will not have to be cleaned as often. However, you should avoid the tendency to use them to pile articles that have not been put away. This will create a cleaning nightmare for you when it comes time to use the room. If the guest room floor, bed, dresser and end tables are kept free of clutter having guests visit will be a pleasure rather than a hassle.

Next you will want to develop a house cleaning list for each of your identified rooms. Some rooms will require the same cleaning everyday and some rooms will only required attention once or twice a week. Clutter is the big killer in house cleaning. Dust will not show up nearly as fast as a pair of shoes out of place or a towel that is not on the rack.

The first room that people see when they enter your home is your living room or family room. Because of its high traffic potential it will need to be high on your house cleaning list. Do your sofa first. Fluff the pillows and be sure they are all in place. Check every flat surface and be sure that everything that is out belongs out and if it does not belong out, put it away. You can quickly wipe down every flat surface in a matter of minutes when the clutter is out of the way. It is OK to have coffee table books and magazines out just have them in an orderly fashion and clean around them.

Prioritize the rooms on your house cleaning list by the amount of usage they get. Bathrooms and kitchens are typically high traffic areas. They should have a daily cleaning schedule. Bathroom and kitchen sinks should be wiped down after every use. At the same time wipe down the counter tops that surround them. You will be surprised at how easy it is to keep a house clean when the horizontal surfaces look clean.

Probably one of the least rewarding tasks in a home owner’s life is house cleaning. Obviously, the items you place on your yearly house cleaning schedule will be larger jobs and require more planning. If long range scheduling is required make a note of that and put the scheduling on your calendar a month or so earlier. How often do you clean and polish cabinets or built ins. Make you house cleaning schedule so that if you find out that an activity should be done more often it can be moved to another list. Look at the items on your daily and weekly house cleaning schedule.

Your House Cleaning Schedule Should Fit Your Busy Life

Probably one of the least rewarding tasks in a home owner’s life is house cleaning. No matter how many times you do it, it still has be be done again and again and again. While this is tedious, it can be expedited if one makes a house cleaning schedule. Divide the schedule into what should be done in each room and how often a week it should be done. Then you can develop a schedule basis on daily, weekly, monthly and annual activities. When you break your schedule down into bite sized pieces they are easy to get a handle on and easier to handle.

Obviously, the items you place on your yearly house cleaning schedule will be larger jobs and require more planning. In some cases such as carpet cleaning they may even require outside contractors to get the work done. If you are going to hire someone to do them make a note of who will make the arrangements and which company you will use to do the work. Place their phone numbers and the contact person on the schedule so they can be easily reached when the time comes. If long range scheduling is required make a note of that and put the scheduling on your calendar a month or so earlier.

Monthly, or in some cases, twice a month activities should be identified next. How often do you do you windows? Do your floors require stripping and waxing? How often do you clean and polish cabinets or built ins. Make you house cleaning schedule so that if you find out that an activity should be done more often it can be moved to another list. Likewise if you discover that you are doing something more than it should be, move it to a lesser list.

Look at the items on your daily and weekly house cleaning schedule. What can you do to expedite how they are done. Showers can be cleaned while you are using them. Kitchen and bathroom counters can be cleaned when you have finished using the sink next to them. Look for what can be done to decrease your steps and your movements. Use the toilet brush each night after your last trip to the bathroom. Make your bed as soon as you get up in the morning. None of these things will take more than a few minutes at most if done regularly and built into a routine. Residential cleaning service that fits busy lives in north west Chicago suburbs is what we offer.

Some people seem to get their house cleaning done effortlessly. To make this happen it is necessary to develop and keep a house cleaning schedule. Clean the bathroom after you use it. Use your towel to clean the faucet and any other bright work on the counter. Cleaning with a toilet brush will keep your toilet sparkling clean and can be done before you leave the bathroom.

How to Effortlessly Clean Your Home

Some people seem to get their house cleaning done effortlessly. Others never seem to get it done at all and things just keep piling up on them. Before they know it their homes are little more than a path between the piles of clutter. To keep this from happening it is necessary to develop and keep a house cleaning schedule. Keep it simple but detailed enough so that you will know what needs to be done and in what order it should be done in.

To keep order in your house cleaning schedule take a few days to track your daily activities. Do it on a routine day that you would expect to follow on most days. Trace your steps from the time you get out of bed until you go out the door to go to work or wherever you go. Once you have your daily path identified look at the things that need to be done along that trail. Place the tasks in the order of your steps and you will have the beginning of a house cleaning schedule.

Your bed can be made as soon as you get out of it in the morning. If two of you sleep there let the last person up make the bed. Clean the bathroom after you use it. Keep a squeegee in the shower and clean the walls and floor before getting out. Your bathroom sink and counter can be wiped down with your wash cloth as soon as you are finished washing and or shaving. Use your towel to clean the faucet and any other bright work on the counter. Put all bottle, potions, and lotions out of sight. A thirty second cleaning with a toilet brush will keep your toilet sparkling clean and can be done before you leave the bathroom.

Unless you had a party there the night before your living room and dining room can be cleaned as you walk through. In most cases all it will take is fluffing the pillows on the couch and wiping down the coffee table. Pick up any glasses or other items and return them to the kitchen. After you finish your breakfast put everything away and do the dishes. Clean the counter tops and finish with the sink. Your House cleaning schedule will be complete and you are free to leave the house.
